Jo is a dedicated registered psychologist and clinical psychology
registrar with a warm, empathic, non-judgemental and collaborative
approach to therapy. She seeks to help clients clarify their goals
and values, and learn effective ways to navigate life’s challenges,
including drawing on personal strengths and resources.
Holding a
Master of Clinical Psychology (with Distinction) from Western Sydney
University, and a Bachelor of Psychology with First Class Honours from the University of New England, Jo is also an associate member of the
Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA) and a member of the
Australian Psychological Society (APS).
Jo has worked with
individuals across the lifespan in private practice and community
health, giving her experience with clients from a wide range of
social and cultural backgrounds, and presentations. She enjoys
providing psychological interventions to children, adolescents and
adults. Jo’s areas of interest include anxiety, depression, OCD,
health anxiety, trauma, interpersonal challenges, parenting,
emotional/behavioural dysregulation, and self-compassion.
Passionate about removing the stigma of mental health challenges, Jo uses trauma-informed, evidence-based therapeutic modalities including
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment
Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and
attachment-based parenting interventions, including Confident Carers
Cooperative Kids (CCCK).
Encouraging an holistic approach to improving well-being, Jo is committed to ensuring that treatment is tailored to the specific needs and goals of clients, seeking to normalise people’s unique
responses to life stressors.
