Fiona is a registered Clinical Psychologist who specialises in working with individual adults experiencing longstanding mental health difficulties. These include anxiety disorders, depression, relational/developmental trauma, low self-worth, low self-confidence,excessive self-sacrifice, unhealthy perfectionism, recurring intrusive painful memories, difficulties being authentic in relationships, difficulties establishing boundaries and being assertive, difficulties forming healthy close relationships and difficulties within family of origin relationships.

Fiona is an advanced certified schema therapist. She uses schema therapy to help clients to understand the origins of their difficulties and to gradually transform the way they feel about themselves, how they behave and how they treat themselves and others. She uses schema therapy strategies to promote healing and moving on from past painful and traumatic experiences (especially childhood experiences). She aims to help her clients to become psychologically healthy and resilient adults who can appreciate who they are, advocate for and protect themselves and form healthy balanced relationships.

Fiona is skilled in using a variety of other evidence-based psychological therapies including: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (for trauma), she also integrates mindfulness and self-compassion strategies into her work. Her approach is collaborative and respectful. With each client she tailors therapy to address their needs, preferences, goals and values. As a person, Fiona is empathic, understanding and non-judgmental. She believes that everyone has strengths they can use to help them handle their difficulties.
